It's a matter of opinion whether you like Kubrick's appearance (I'm
not a huge fan, but I don't hate it), but there's no denying that it's
code is messy. And even if the code were cleaned up, it would still
have too much bulk (bulk which serves some) to be the core theme. I
really don't care whether it's chosen by default, I just don't feel it
should be the core theme. The core theme fills in the gap when other
themes lack, and that theme needs to have simple, solid XHTML.

Whatever theme is set as "default", some people will whine, so better
stick with what is most recognisable already. However, a nice template for
theme editing would be valuable. It would also be nice to include some
placeholder images and styles, which beg for the user to modify them.
