I believe there is a way for you to 'intervene' and modify the file which
specifies icon locations. Let me know if you want me to check which file
this is. The issue is often raised in comp.windows.x.kde.

Thanks for the link. It looks like the fix is till being worked on. I guess I'll wait till the next upgrade to KDEv.3.4
