What OS are you running?

windows xp

First of all, try scandisk.exe. It is possible that you are unable to re-
move a virtual drive because it is mounted and in use. Also try the vari-
ety of partitioning tools in Windows or use alternative file managers.
Even 'cmd'/'command.com' would do. What error message do you get when hit-
ting properties over the virtual drive? You must provide more details or
else you won't be helped.

Best wishes,

Roy
First I used a jump drive to reclaim some files. it left the drive on my computer and it is un named.
right clicked to delete to no avail. tried properites from menu while highlighted and the highlight jumped to another drive?
tried unlocker to no avail. no error messages.
