Make that question "what will be..." and the answer is:

o Recipe database (incl barcode scanning of ingredients for online
supermarket ordering)
o Entertainment (MP3s, videos, TV etc from the LAN and internet)
o Web browsing
o VoIP calls
o Security (four cams around the house + alarm)
o Lighting control (possibly power down the track)

No "primary" use per se. It will be the proverbial jack-of-all trades
I susepct.

Probably. But by the time I spent 2years getting myself up to speed on
it, my other half will have gotten the sh*ts and probably ripped the
whole thing out of the kitchen  ;-)
