Taking a realistic step back, there is no reason why a country like
India should be particularly supportive of the US patent office with its
drive to make a profit by selling as many patent opportunities as it
can.

If both India and China choose to follow a differenti, and surely more
sensible, path, then the world will have to follow.  No doubt with the
USPTO bringing up the rear.
