Yes I know but what can we do about them? I used to try asking them to do
tutorials, or go to a night class to learn how to do things like traverse
directories ans such things. But I'm afraid they just don't seem capable of
learning such things.

That is part of what I keep saying, we have to force security onto people or
they hold the rest of us back. The Internet should be much more than it is
now after all these years that it has been readily available. But it is
held back because of other peoples insecurities and now has to battle to
win back the trust of those that hear of the internet scams and hacks on
the nightly news.
