Elo is not the first company to offer touch technologies, but they have
a very good and practical approach. They offer unsupported OSS
versions that have limited functionality, Binary versions that offer
extended features and corporate support, and a "blended" version which
lets people work with the OSS side as plug-ins to the Binary version,
with corporate support.

This is similar to what ATI has been doing with their FireGL cards.

This would also increase the attractiveness of commercial versions of
Linux for devices such as tablets and kiosks.
