Thanks. We are probably both just stating this for the sake of the argument.
When the cost of hardware drops and, assuming system requirements stay
steady, the cost of software will be forced to drop too. Over the years,
hardware has become cheaper, yet commercial software becomes more expensive.
As this trend continues, commercial software will perish and give way to OSS
and services.
