Where are you getting this information? I work with a support company.
and we observer *thousands* of XP machines. Not a single one has *ever*
had *any* issue with validation.

infopackets - they're misguided and their articles lack any content,
especially the "technical" ones. They sound like they're implying that
MS would lose the battle to Linux if it wasn't for pirated software,
and then go on to say:

Make your mind up...they also, in another article, praise Sterling Ball
(leader of Ernie Ball guitar strings co) for switching to Linux, saving
himself $80,000! Wow, great! Turns out he only went that way after MS
"raided" his headquarters, and fined him. So he was in violation - he
should have been sent to prison if it was on such a large scale.
