After actually reading the article, it alarms me greatly that the widget system is programmed via HTML. To me, it means that they are designing their HTML interpreter to be Turing Complete, with hooks into the local environment. And I'm willing to bet they didn't write a seperate HTML interpreter for widgets and for IE7.


I was expecting them to use .NET for the widgets, so as to clearly delineate what is an executable application, and what is merely a viewable (HTML) document.
