Aha! *smile* There are some finer controls there -- ones
which I never spotted before. I am not entirely sure what
the differences between "border snap zone" and "window snap
zone" actually are. I'll find out. Thanks for that.

The gripe I sometimes have is the fact that, when windows
are set to be movable when maximised, it makes it hard to
discern maximised windows from ones that merely hover. A
bigger gripe is the lack of snaps in dual-head monitors,
including the snapping of pane borders to the gap between
monitors. It could probably be implemented although it's
just an itch-scratch-ware/feature.
