It was also well before the 200,000th nasty was found. And it had the
benefit of most of the world not knowing a whole lot about what kind of
spew emanates from one small area of Washington state. Plus it had the
advantage of people still thinking His Buttcrustness had a goal of
supporting the products with timely updates and bug fixes, of the
people who hadn't had much contact with Windross before.

People started wondering what that golden castle was really made of.
Some moved up and scratched on the gold. They discovered, not much more
than surface deep, there was a false wall. Behind that wall was a
double-wide, a 1977 Chevy truck up on blocks, and a couch* sitting in
the back of the 1986 Ford that gets used for all of the grocery
shopping and family outings.

* Perhaps the single piece of furniture Fester is forbidden to break.
