Their actions are restricted to engaging with fools.
The easiest way to be convincing is to GPL
something like DOS, Win3.1, Win95, Win98, WinME etc that
are no longer supported.
Previous tactics that included open sourcing new things which
is a land grab for already tied up programmers who are foolish
enough to fall for it, and second tactic to
embrace long established open source products because we
already know that is to lead it into extention and extinguish
for projects that are weak enough to accept their money
and/or succumb to their demands in exchange for the money.
