Proof once again that sometimes the CLI is best when trying
to describe things over the phone -- but at least now you
know. :-)

A mildly interesting addendum: corrupted Zip file
from contractors we're having develop something for us.
Googled. Turns out "ZipRepair" was about the only thing
out there, and it of course runs on Windows. I have WinE
here, decide, OK, let's try it. Installs in a snap, and
even runs. It's shareware of course and the file's too
big but heck, apart from having to put the downloaded .EXE
in the right place, it's Just Like Windows(tm) Except For
The Crashes(tm).

Not much I could do, admittedly, with that file (we got a new one
anyway), but it's gratifying the process was painless and relatively
transparent.

Windows Vista. Because it's time to refresh your hardware. Trust us.
