I later came to realise the OP is linux-sux at lycos. But I wouldn't retract.

The exploits often exist before patches are made available. Thus, SPAM and
DDOS attacks will inevitably remain a reality, unless Windows is fully
extinguished, Fixes don't help because some are still using Windows 95, 98,
ME (not truly maintained) and there is little (or no) reason to upgrade
along with the same vendor. A few rotten apples (not Apples) are enough to
devastate the Net, while/if connected. It's a brute force thing.
