Pah, they can't call us names then expect us to play with them in the park.

You know one of the handheld computers did that. They write to lots of
developers, or those that used to be (it's ages since I developed any more
than a cold, but I'm still on peoples books so get lots of trees posted
through my door), they say if you thousand or so developers write us
software we will give *one* of you something nice. For the rest its like
the xfactor, all that effort and no reward, but they get to keep what you
did.

No, if I did develop again it wouldn't be SCO, I'd want to go to SunSystems
or HP. Can just imagine a mega computer in my dining room (well I never eat
in there and the dog can sleep somewhere else), a couple of mega work
stations scattered around the house. I wonder if they do one that would go
with my bedroom decor so I could work in bed, but its hard to come up with
a match for multi coloured socks strewn across the floor and pants piled on
the chair.

Basically, developers, always be warey of these offers however tempting they
look, only one gets the prize, the rest are just providing free ideas that
those people will incorporate as and when they fancy. If they want your
service have them pay properly for it and always always register your
design or product first.
