Microsoft has different goals. One is to make anything less than
a 3ghz P4 w/ 1G of memory too slow to use. Right now thousands of
developers are working round the clock to make an animated dancing
weasel who will always be there to insure the system is too slow to use
and therefore impossible to do anything damaging.
