I have heard about Google Earth running through Wine several months ago. I
suspect it was the SuSE newsgroup. In other news, Google Earth is coming to
Linux (native version).

Additionally, a new version of Wine (0.9.13) has just been released:

Judging by the list of key new features, it is more likely to run many such
programs, including those that require hardware acceleration. Wine will be
sponsored by Google Summer of Code shortly.

Best wishes,

Roy
