The days when Microsoft could claim that Linux was just a geek's
hobbyist project with limited appeal have long been over.
As an Ubuntu user, I lurk on www.ubuntuforums.org quite a bit. Look in
the "Absolute Beginners" forum and you'll see a constant - growing -
stream of people who know nothing but Windows making the change. And
that forum's friendly, helpful atmosphere means very few of these
"newbies" are abandoning Ubuntu in frustration.
