Greeks bearing gifts
,----[ Quote ]
| Here in the UK, there is a saying that was a quote from Virgil that
| was often quoted in the original Latin, "Timeo Danaos et dona
| ferentis", which is usually mistranslated into the phrase "Beware
| of Greeks bearing gifts"...

| horse in the mouth, but should cut off its head and throw a few

The Persistence of Memory
,----[ Quote ]
| Even if none of these doomsday scenarios ever happens, it cannot be
| denied by anyone that Microsoft has just gained no small measure of
| direct influence over the direction of Linux business and development.

Thoughts on the Novell/Microsoft Deal Announced Nov 2
,----[ Quote ]
| The biggest benefactor of this deal is Novell, not the open source
| community or "the customer" as Novell's Hovsepian and the spin
| doctors would have us believe, and we as a community should stand
| against it. Perhaps the best thing for Novell would be for this to
| backfire in a big way, in the hope that such a result would inspire
| them to become truly committed to open source.
