Operating Systems or a Popularity Contest
,----[ Quote ]
| I've heard so many complaints about operating systems over the years that
| if you were to write them all down, they would fill volumes of books.
| Everyone has an opinion, and people like to make theirs known when
| they're upset. Something as simple as a button placement or a font used
| can drive certain people up the wall, and if that bothers them that
| much, then that?s their deal.
|
| Now, I'm not saying that you shouldn't be bothered by anything in your
| operating system. You're the user, and you?re free to make decisions
| based off of things that may not even be noticeable to others. After
| all, when you spend so much time with something, you want it to be an
| enjoyable experience instead of something that you?re just waiting to be
| over with.

One could argue that it's all about the applications, provided the O/S does
not hinder the user (e.g. maintenance, cost, stability).
