Now that's just silly
So what is this, like 350+ distributions and counting?

Every wannabe pimple faced, living in mom's basembet, Linux "programmer"
seems to be churning out his own distribution just to get his 5 seconds of
fame.

Oh well, I suppose it keeps them off the streets.

Why dont the gang see what a colossal waste of everyones time & effort it is? Anyone with *any* experience in the real SW world knows this to be a complete waste of time & effort. Linux is infinitely customisable anyway, they all come with near enough the same repositories . Filter down to the top 10 and concentrate any sklls out there on getting these distros into top condition in order to meet Vista head on.

But oh no.

Its all about "choice". And the "choice" seem to me to be overwhelmingly
"lets stick with a niche OS" rather than "lets advocate the crap out of
it and get it out there competing with windows for the public's desktop
space".

So... you are saying that these people, for whatever reason, that enjoy making their own little distro shouldn't do that, and instead, they should do what YOU want them to?

I wont hold my breath.

Oh, please do. Have someone help you.... you know... for when you pass out and start breathing again...
