Caldera/SCO had previously settled with MS over the DRDOS illegal
activities MS did in the 1980s; perhaps that's what spurred them on
to the highly ill-advised linux action?

Can't see them having anything to say about FreeDOS, though. The
development is as open as linux, all fully trackable, although the very
original kernel was closed, the source is all available. Also, note
that the source for DRDOS has been available for some time, too,
although not under an open licence, so that anyone can compare the two.
