Oliver, please be aware that it's a finalised plan, albeit nothing has
apparently been deployed or put on the shelves, yet. The inclusion of gaming
is likely to attract quite a few new faces, at least in the more native
distribution channels (France?). Gaming has been one among very few barriers
to Total Annihilation (TM) of a Windows partition and licence/s. Use of
Mandriva also translates into savings on security software (none required),
not to mention plenty of software which is a nice bonus.

| FB: Two things I'd like to insist on. First is the importance of
| emerging markets for Linux: we see large opportunities in country as
| diverse as Venezuela, Algeria, Tunisia, Ghana, Morocco, Azerbaijan and
| Georgia. In Brasil, right now we are selling in the order of 30,000
| Mandriva machine per month, which is a sizable portion of the PC market
| there. This takes me to my second point, which is the emergence of the
| OEM channel to bring Linux to the PC market.

Emerging markets that do not necessarily involve a migration from Windows are
an easy pick. The price is suitable and Linux has been shown to be easier to
harness (assuming no prior skills, orientation, documentation, and
familiarity). In Brasil, for example, I don't think you'd struggle to find a
neighbour who is a Linux expert. A lot of fantastic Linux software comes
from there.
