[News] History of Fedora Linux in Pictures and Innovative GNOME Mockups

The Visual History of Fedora

,----[ Quote ]
| Fedora began as Fedora Core, which was sponsored by Red Hat and
| was (and still is) developed largely by the community. Unlike
| Ubuntu that is including a variety of binary blobs, Fedora
| contains only free and open-source software. It is derived
| from Red Hat and is commonly referred to as a bleeding edge
| version or the testing grounds for Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Some GNOME 3 ideas, get rid of panels!

| Windows that are inactive "lay down" on the desk and are of a
| different color, they can be moved around like files. The
| active window is like active windows are now in GNOME 2.x,
| so it looks like you?re holding the window in front of you.

With Linux, users are actually _involved_ in design decisions and, as KDE has
taught many of us, good ideas are added to the trunk and improve
functionality. It's the itch-scratch model.
