Roy, I agree wholeheartedly. I simply cannot understand why a smart guy like
de Icaza would do such dumb things. And if he likes Microsoft so much, why
doesn't he just go and work for them? I'm pretty sure they'd be glad to have
him.
OTOH his GNOME project has been in an eternal battle with KDE for the
desktop and this wrangling has cost Linux (the desktop kind) dearly. And as
for Mono, it's simply not an option for commericial companies and will
eventually become "abandonware." If people like C#/.NET they should use
Microsoft, if they like freedom/low cost/security they should use
Java/Linux.
