Well, people refuse to leave XP no matter what (and that Home Basic Lemon
Edition they get from OEM pays Microsoft just $30 and then gets wiped). I'm
guessing that raising subscription fees or giving freebies like printer makers
would be their thing. Remember that they already test this model in Africa
(pay-as-you-go Windows XP Starter Edition+Office).
There are no promises when it comes to pricing. Trust Microsoft... their
lawyers and business MBA types will pull another one like this:
