roughlydrafted recently made the interesting point that when McBride
took over SCO, he effectively gave back to Microsoft all the money
that Caldera had won as a settlement over the DR DOS case, that is,
that money went into the anti-Linux lawsuits. Of course that's been
wasted by now, too.
You can't get blood out of a turnip, but it's too bad that some
greater punishment cannot be meted out to the schemers behind the
lawsuits, that is, greater than just the bankruptcy of SCO. Like a
personal lawsuit againt McBride, or prison or something.
There was talk at one point about IBM using subpoenas to go after the
Baystar-Microsoft connection, that it, following the money trail to
the real deep pockets and guilty parties. I haven't heard anything
about that lately, though.
