Flashy 32bit diehards
,----[ Quote ]
| At least Mr. Melanson talks to us from time to time, but his apparent policy
| of not discussing 64bit at all is such a denial mode that makes us think
| what's going on inside Adobe's corporate mind (as I believe he would like to
| be able to discuss it but his Management prevents him from doing so).

Open at Adobe - Frillions of ways
,----[ Quote ]
| As I've stated in an earlier blog, I think that freedom can mean multiple
| things. At Adobe, we don't necessarily follow the one true open source way.
| While open source is a great way to develop code, there is not just one way
| to open source. We tend to be a community ourselves, with our own cliches,
| personalities and opinions. We often try to make our own way. We look at open
| source as to what's the drive and reason. And we pick our approaches to open
| source with a unique review each time.
|
| In the platform and developer unit, we're believers in open source, but even
| then, we're approaching it cautiously. We need to learn how the interfaces at
| the boundaries will work, and whether it's in everyones best interests.

Adobe bashes open-source alternatives
,----[ Quote ]
| It's well and good to look at things from the user's perspective, but in this
| case it leads to a false dichotomy. Loiacono appears to be considering only
| outside open-source alternatives such as Inkscape or the Gimp.
|
| There's nothing technological stopping Adobe from releasing software that's
| both open-source as well as integrated and easy to use. But it's misleading
| to point to the shortcomings of others' open-source software as a reason why
| Adobe shouldn't open-source its own.

For Adobe, a tough lesson in (open-source) diplomacy

| The brouhaha had to be painful for Adobe, a community-friendly company that

| 6. What features does the current version of Gnash support?
|
| We support a large chunk of ActionScript2 classes, and Flash v7
| movies. There is some support for v8 starting to get added as it's
| not very difference from v7. Although streaming video currently works
| in CVS, it's not fully functional yet. I find that Gnash plays them
| ajority of web pages Flash ads (unfortunately), and many movies
| randomly grabbed from the net. Many of us are using Gnash as our
| only Flash player without much trouble.

Why Adobe likes Google better than Microsoft

| That's when he described Google as sort of a shield. When Microsoft's
