It's quite amazing just how much effort there is going on in trying to
make Microsoft and Windows Vista relevant to anyone at all. It must
be blindingly clear by now that the game is very much over, that the
Microsoft Tax is yesterday's turnpike on the information highway,
and that the best transport vehicle for the information highway is an
open-source stack running on open hardware.
Attempting to push the idea of reduced functionality PCs running cut-down
versions of Windows Vista and Microsoft Office as the "businessman's
friend" is rather like offering a mechanic a socket set with half the
sockets missing, and expecting him to be able still to fix your car.
