Just in case it isn't Flatricia, the OP can try reseating the battery.
If that fails, try booting it with it plugged into the wall with no
battery in it. After it boots (assuming it does) that battery can go
back in & it should be OK.

I see this all the time in the Panasonics we have at work.

Of course, that's probably just Flatso impersonating a human again. But
it's still something that might help somebody real sometime.
