Whenever I open a PP account, it gets terminated (expired) for being too idle.
It has become so much of a nuisance that it's barely worth the effort unless
you make many transactions.
Poor software security (indpendent from eBay) is one of the things that kill
PP. Those services, just like online banking, assume that the user controls
his/her own machine. In reality, most PCs are affected by some form of malware
and about a third are controlled partly by a criminal (i.e. zombie).
Botnets made the Net chaotic and phishing too relies on them (brute force), not
to mention cybercrime (proxies make the criminals less traceable).
