With the indexing powers of search engines came the ability to fake people's
identity, which makes slander possible (even spam invitations/traps by
serving spiders/ratbots) . The least you can do is sature the Web with
genuine pages that contain your name.
As Craig indicated above, my identity is being stolen (forging) as well. A
friend of mine told me a long time ago that any friend/family
member/employer who uses UseNet, let alone the Internet, to learn about a
person, is led toward disappointment. While there's no identity management
system in place, anything can be written by anyone, on behalf of anyone.
