Apparently not as well as we should; Microsoft still holds
over 80% (90%?  95%?) of the desktops out there.

Linux is gaining, but the gains are a bit slower than
some would like, and it's far from clear how many of the
gains are because Linux is better, as opposed to Microsoft
deliberately shooting itself in various appendages.
