What you are describing is not considered "reauthoring".
It would more likely be "copying" a cd / dvd.
Reauthoring would involve adding to, removing from or changing
the cd / dvd ifo-bup file structure for some reason.

There's a lot of difference between the two and there isn't an application
available to Linux that "reauthors" the file structure.

Windows has them though.
DCD Shrink
DVD FabDecrypter
IFOedit
Amazon DVD Shrink

Linux does have K3B and it works to burn data cds or copy cds & dvds
but "reauthoring" isn't an option unless you're talking about editing
the iso file but that would be in the domain of the iso application
and not necessarily an advantage of Linux.
