It's just possible that the pressure we, and others, have been putting
on Ashley Highfield to get out of the pockets of Microsoft and accept
that Microsoft will /never/ write a client which will work on platforms
it considers to be a threat has finally got through? Perhaps also
helped by the terrible publicity around the phone-in stuff.
Incidentally, an interesting remark from Mrs Mark over lunch today...
"but you've always maintained that these phone-ins were a con", well, I
always have, because I almost never see evidence of actual winners
winning things.
Somewhat reminiscent of "The Running Man", except that the BBC don't
often kill their contestents!
