I think the problems will need to be fixed from the top-down, rather
than losing divisional directors (or whatever Microsoft call this
layer).  I suspect that anyone getting a good offer from the outside
will be looking to move at the moment - things are not so good at the
moment, but a company with the wealth of Microsoft should be able to
weather the storm and come out with a good product or two which people
actually want, rather than have to have forced on them, or be locked
into, or whatever.
