Better yet, you can burn a CD or DVD with loads of game on it. Live sessions...
you can just 'plug' those games onto any computers without installing them.
That's the whole idea behind appliances that rPath is so keen on (you can run
them as a VM as well). Linux has done this for years and this morning I saw a
headline which suggests Microsoft is catching up. The user is now able to have
roaming data on a USB stick.
Web services - running without installation (ZeroInstall) - virtualisation -
appliances/live CDs...
One thing is for sure... one of the above (or a combination thereof) are
tomorrow's way of interacting with PCs and data. Those whole desktop/install
paradigm is dying. Even the iPhone shows this, so devices are no exception.
