Oh, dear. This could get more confusing than the 7 editions.
BTW, it turns out that SP1 might not be released in Oct/Nov as Intel's CEO
predicted. It could be 2008. *gasp* How badly written is that bl00dy code???
Maybe they should also stop the 'patch that fixes a broken patch habit' and
release betas and alphas of patches.
"There are new updates available. Would you like to fetch them?"
[Accept] [Cancel]
"Some of the following updates are still in beta phase. Proceed anyway?"
<<list>>
[Accept] [No, I'll try them when it's all ready and risk becoming a zombie]
( user now presses "accept")
"You must reboot your system for changes to take effect"
[Reboot now] [No thanks, I'll stay at risk of becoming a zombie until
this session of mine is done. I run a multi-day simulation
for the next 3 days and it cannot be paused]
( user presses "reboot now")
( machine fails to boot and 'returns to life' only after the
machine has been wiped and Windows reinstalled" )
Anyhoo...
I have some updates on this... I'll post it shortly.
