IINM all of these are registered with the trademark office,
with the exception of Microsoft proper, which is probably
registered in a Seattle office as a business name/entity.
(For its part Linux is trademarked by Linus Torvalds.
Presumably it's a defensive move to avoid certain
silliness. Microsoft has aggressively defended its
trademarks as well, as evidenced in the recent case
involving MikeRoweSoft.com or some such.)
