A Microsoft engineer outlined this brave new world of the Internet in an
essay presented to the IEEE a few years back. Of course, Microsoft saw
itself as the gatekeeper for the Internet. In other words, pay us or no
net. It would be a whole new Microsoft Tax.
Let use hope that Microsoft aren't able to bribe enough politicians to have
this nightmare foisted onto the world.
