And when an organisation and leader has acquired this status, people
would find it hard to believe that its grass roots tactics are a cross
between the tactics of Al Capone and Joe McCarthy.
Microsoft's patent sabre rattling is resulting in Microsoft having a
public relations vulnerability that will be exploited to its serious
detriment. This will completely undermine its present situation where
its marketeers seem to be able to successfully 'engage' with those at
all levels, even to the extent where a Microsoft salesperson finds it
easier to get an appointment to see a senior manager (and get his or
her ear) than the manager's own direct subordinates.
A very practical thing to do - do not accept anything in ooxml (.docx)
format. Politely ask the sender to re-send it in ODF, PDF or as a
last resort .rtf or .doc .
