It's fairly common for companies to (too aggresively??) product their
trademarks. A great example is McDonalds. Go try and open a McSoftware
or McDonut or Mc-Anything and see how long until you get the cease and
desist letter from McDonalds informing you that you have just stopped
calling your Mc-something.
The only McSomething company that I've ever heard of is (the former)
McData and McDonalds did take them to court. Eventually they could
keep their name (McData) because it's a data company that was named
after it's founder... Jack McDonnell.
