Germany's Home Secretary says spying over the Internet is on the rise

| cause direct damage than to get control of computers and steal
| data." He said that the goal of such programs was to establish
| a permanent presence on infected computers in order to collect
| data over the long term for sale to criminals, for instance.

| analyzed in 2005 were designed to steal data in this manner.
