The genocide of the Indians by the US army is one of the most atrocious
war crimes in recent history.  I don't think that it's reported much in
the US, though, and I suspect that most US citizens still believe the
Hollywood view of that particularly nasty portion of US history.

To my mind, when you are after the women and children as well as the
young men, then genocide is clearly the goal.  Armies are, of course,
usually very successful at killing women and children, and the US army
were no exception in this respect.

>From a Hollywood perspective, I very much doubt that Disney or any other
studio would wish to make films about such things - it doesn't hold up
the US in a very good light, and would probably bring the religious
ultra-right down on them like a ton of bricks.

The sale of the A.A. Milne estate to Disney was a national crime...
