actually contributed something usefully tho the hacker scene and indeed
Roy Schestowitz is one of them.

All those exposed on the Hackwerk poster are my heroes and yes Roy
Schestowitz is one of them. I'm not obsessed with any of them , but some
way or the other they've inspired me. BTW Hackwerk is the title of my
(Dutch) biography. I will publish it soon on my website in PDF and ODF
