The big mistake was removing the governors (who always did a very good
job indeed), insisting on the sourcing of "external" programming, so we
get all that cheap sh1te at great expense, and then the new management
start to recruit their mates from Microsoft and elsewhere, people who've
no background in public service organisations at all, rather, people who
are used to doing things the "big business" way, where millions can be
burnt on someone's favourite project with a proprietary vendor.
