It's an Earthlink plan, autobilled. I've not looked into
the details lately. They also supply phone service, as
well as a small NAT router and some lowpass filters that
I get to stick on every phone in the house -- unless I
really want to hear loud white noise.

I probably should have said DSL instead of ISDN.

The bandwidth I tend to get is 150 kB/s; I assume 1.5 Mb/s.
This is adequate for light-duty gaming; my pings tend
to run 200-250 milliseconds which may be in part because
I have *another* router (the one Earthlink gives me has
all of two jacks and one of them is for the phone line)
in the network path.

I've not seen a Wi-Fi hotspot near me, though in theory
I could receive it using my laptop. Certainly I can see
hotspots readily enough, and even route through one at work
(it's a college library AFAICT so I don't really want to
consume all of their bandwidth. ;-) )
