This is slightly off topic, but given how much Roy likes to post anti-ooxml
articles here, I thought this was appropriate.

Check it out.  Patrick Durusau, the OASIS ODF TC Chair calls into question
the people denigrating OOXML for not being open.  He claims OOXML is a
poster child for open standards processes and sees nothing wrong what's
happening, despite the fact that he disagrees with certain things in OOXML.

He also says:

"The OpenXML project has made a large amount of progress in terms of the
openness of its development. Objections that do not recognize that are
focusing on what they want to see and not what is actually happening with
OpenXML."
