Verily I say unto thee, that Mark Kent spake thusly:
> I've got my mythtv box set up so that it downcodes whatever it
> records into a medium-sized DIVX but also into a tiny format suitable
> for my N800, the kids' GP2Xs and Mrs Mark's Archos 504. It stores
> these recodes directly onto the bubba excito box which then can
> distribute them anywhere else, including over the internet to
> wherever else I might be (by sftp, not udp...).
I've got what I call a "drop zone" for media files on a server. It's
just a script that monitors for new files, then transcodes them to
whatever format I have set in the script (usually H264 for the iPod).
The drop zone is on an NFS/Samba share, so any new media files I get,
I just copy them to that share and forget about them. Some time later
I get Email notification when they're done.
Maybe I should get in touch with the MSBBC ... might save them a packet.
